There are, unsurprisingly, many painters (Titian, Veronese and Tintoretto to name a few) present. However, when it comes to the world of music, only a single composer is honoured. There is a bust to Benedetto Marcello, but not to Andrea or Giovanni Gabrieli, Monteverdi or Vivaldi! The absence of the latter two composers may be explained by the fact that their work was still in the process of being rediscovered when the last of the sculptures were carved.
The Palazzo Loredan is open to the public from Monday until Friday and is definitely worth a peek.
